My First Camping Trip

Our Lexus moved smoothly and silently through the countryside as I sat in it, sleeping. I woke up with a jolt as my little brother suddenly shouted, "WE'RE HERE!" Irritated at my brother, I was awestruck when I glanced outside and saw rows of giant oaks on both sides of the road . We had finally arrived at Bastrop State Park.
My mom told me to help her get everything ready before it got too dark and cold. After everything was set up, we had roasted hotdogs and gooey, messy, delicious s'mores. Later inside our tent, my little brother and I started making puppet shadows on the tent wall for fun. After a while, I finally fell asleep.
The next morning, I got up really early with my little brother. We woke up our dad, and we went kayaking. It was the perfect time to go kayaking since it was cool and the water was calm. We had two kayaks, and they were only meant for one person each, so my little brother had to sit on the back my kayak with his feet in the cold water. He didn't mind the it though. We had been kayaking for a while on the lake when a bunch of silver fry, half the size of my hand, just randomly started jumping out of the lake and over the front of our kayak. It lasted for about half a minute. Deciding that it would be a good time to go fishing, we went back to the dock to get our fishing gear.
We found a good spot near the center of the lake, then started fishing. After fishing for roughly an hour, we decided to call it a day because it was late in the afternoon. We had caught a total of four fish, each almost a foot long. My dad had caught two, my little brother had caught one, and I also had caught one. It was a good fishing trip since it was my first time.
When we got back, we first had brunch, and then we went to the swim area, a part of the lake netted off. After an hour of splashing, happily yelling, and swimming in the cool water, we had to go, dry up, and sleep.
The next morning I sadly realized that this was the last day of our camping trip. We ended up hiking on the trails for the remaining hours. When it was time to leave, I felt like I didn't want to because I wanted to catch another fish, kayak on the sparkling, dark blue lake, and listen to the birds singing cheerfully in the trees. It was fun experiencing new places and doing activities I usually don't do.
